Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) – BCNA provides information and resources for those experiencing early and metastatic breast cancer, their families and health professionals.

Cancer Australia – Cancer Australia was established by the Australian Government in 2006 to benefit all Australians affected by cancer, and their families and carers. Cancer Australia aims to reduce the impact of cancer, address disparities and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer by leading and coordinating national, evidence-based interventions across the continuum of care.

Cancer Council Victoria - This non-profit organization is involved in cancer research, patient support, cancer prevention and advocacy. One of their programs is the Pro Bono program. They connect you with a professional who volunteers their time to help with legal, financial, small business accounting and workplace issues.

Advanced Breast Cancer Group -  Although this group is based in Queensland, the website includes lots of useful information relevant to Victoria, including practical tips for managing advanced breast cancer, and useful links and resources.

Advance Care Planning Australia - provides information and help in developing an advanced care plan, explains why it matters, and includes information in languages in other than English.

Palliative Care Australia - Includes information for patients and carers, and includes a directory of services.

Counterpart – Counterpart connects, supports and informs women living with cancer to live well. This organisation in Melbourne provides free information sessions and support to women affected by cancer. They have a lending library of books and DVDs, available free of charge, including postage, but they only post items to Victorian addresses. You can browse through the collection at counterpart.org.au/library, order by completing a request form, or phone 1300 781 500 for recommendations on a specific topic.

eviQ - Cancer Treatments Online. Much of the website is devoted to clinicians, but there is also a section devoted to patients and carers. Here you can find up to date, evidence - based information on treatments for metastatic breast cancer - information about specific drugs, radiotherapy treatments and problems encountered during cancer treatment. Patient information sheets are available in English and other languages.

Target Cancer Naturally - Aimed at providing people with resources of how to create their own personalized natural therapy to suppress or prevent cancer with the use of natural compounds, diet, body movement and the mind.

*The best way is to ensure this is safe for you is to have a team that you can work with such as your Oncologist, Oncology pharmacist and General Practitioner to discuss any contraindications there may be with your treatment array of natural compounds and treatments and medications.

HealthMatch - Complete a questionnaire to create and profile and you will be notified of relevant clinical trials

Look Good Feel Better  conducts free practical workshops to teach cancer patients how to manage the appearance-related side-effects caused by cancer treatment.
 

Knitted Knockers -  Knitted knockers are FREE 100% cotton prosthesis hand knitted in Australia and provided to breast cancer women who have had a mastectomy. 

Sara's project - provides car transfers, laundry and cleaning services to families affected by cancer, with the intention of maintaining a level of normality within the family and alleviating stress and concern

riprap – A website for teenagers who have a parent with cancer. It includes personal stories, information and tips to help young people understand and deal with their challenging situations. Based in the UK, riprap is not specifically for breast cancer, but contains very useful information.


The Adventure Jar - a book for children and families of those with metastatic breast cancer. “Explores the everyday magic that can still be possible when families come together…”

Support Groups and Other Resources

Think Pink - provides a free, informal fortnightly support group at Docklands, for women with metastatic breast cancer. Other programs support women at any stage of breast cancer.

Natural Death Advocacy Network - empowering choice at end of life. For those wishing to explore different options concerning dying and death.

The Otis Foundation - The OTIS Foundation provides retreat accommodation at no cost to those dealing with the challenges of breast cancer.

Dreams 2 Live 4 - This non-profit organization, founded by a woman with advanced breast cancer, helps people living with metastatic cancer to realize their dreams.

ABC Global Alliance - a multi-stakeholder platform for all those interested in collaborating on common projects relating to advanced breast cancer (ABC) around the world. 

The Bald and the Beautiful - Headwear designed to make women experiencing hair loss feel beautiful. Developed by Sam after her own experience with cancer and hair loss the products are funky, fun and glamorous.
